DRYER VENT CLEANING & DRYER MAINTENANCE

discount-1 - Copy.png

Having your dryer vents cleaned may seem like a menial task and you may be thinking to yourself, "How much stuff can really get stuck in my dryer vent? It's a pretty good-sized duct and I change the lint screen with every other or every load of wash, so it can't clog up that much!"  Unfortunately, that's a misconception. Your dryer screen doesn't catch every piece of lint, fiber or dust and clogged dryer vents are one of the leading causes of house fires.  According to usfa.fema.gov, "2,900 home fires are reported each year due to clothes dryers, with an estimated five deaths, 100 injuries and approximately $35 million in property loss!"

Proper maintenance of your dryer also includes having your dryer cleaned twice each year by a professional. Not just the vents, but the dryer itself.  Lint and dust inside the dryer - under and around the drum - gets heated up when your dryer is running.  Any debris by wiring can easily be sparked and movement of heated debris on metal can be sparked, too.  With that cleaning, we will also inspect the back of your dryer for lint and debris, and we'll inspect the outside coverings, too.  If you're missing the outside vent covering or it's not opening properly when your dryer is running, that will cause problems with your dryer, too.  No covering means rain and debris can get inside your dryer vent and a vent covering not opening properly means the heated air isn't being released. This can all cause your dryer to heat up too hot, potentially causing a fire.

Making sure dryer hoses are damage-free and the proper hose is being used is important, too.  A hose that's too small or too big or has any damage to it at all allows for air to be pushed through improperly.  Lint, fibers and dust will get caught in the smallest open gaps, causing buildup of more lint, fibers and dust inside the dryer hose.  More heat means added potential for sparks.

So don't wait too long. Give us a call today or fill the form on our Contact Us page!  We'll get you scheduled right away at a time that's convenient for you!  We have the proper tools and equipment to clean 20 feet of vent (most homes are 18 feet or less) and we have a camera to show you if your vent is clogged, and we'll show you the before and after images of your vent, just like the ones shown below.
